Fibre-optic instrumentation since 2003

Remove EMI from the signal-transmission path.

FibreComs is Microface's in-house fibre-optic measurement system for electrically noisy test environments. Fibre does not conduct electromagnetic interference and provides galvanic isolation between the sensor location and acquisition system.

Cleaner measurement

Optical transmission prevents the data link from carrying the electrical interference and ground-loop paths associated with copper connections.

  • No conducted EMI through the fibre
  • Electrical isolation
  • Useful around closely grouped dynamometers
02

Practical in the laboratory

FibreComs devices are designed to be easy to install, exchange and repair. Calibration information is stored with the device to support plug-and-play changes.

  • Device-held calibration information
  • Straightforward sensor changes
  • Repairable fibre connections
03

Multiple measurement types

Historic FibreComs applications include torque, pressure, temperature, displacement, airspeed, cable tension, drag force, humidity and disc-thickness-variation measurements.

  • Common brake-test measurements
  • Expandable architecture
  • BrakeLab integration

Specify FibreComs for your application

Developed in-house since 2003, FibreComs brings measurement and electrical isolation into the same engineering discussion. Tell us the signals, channel count, acquisition rate, cable distance and operating environment you require so we can assess a suitable configuration.

  • Signal and interface requirements
  • Measurement and isolation needs
  • Application-specific configuration
